A Dhaka court has fixed tomorrow (Tuesday) for remand hearing in the sedition case filed against BNP Joint Secretary General Aslam Chowdhury.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Maruf Hossain fixed the date on Monday after a hearing in this regard.
Earlier in the day, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrates Mazharul Islam and Golam Nabi fixed June 6 for the remand hearing in two violence cases filed against the BNP leader.
Aslam Chowdhury was brought to the court from the jail around 10:00am as today was scheduled for the hearing of the three cases.
Law enforcers have sought a 30-day remand for interrogating the BNP leader in the three separate cases.
Police arrested the newly appointed BNP joint secretary general from capital’s Khilkhet area on May 15. Latter, he was remanded in police custody for seven days.
After the remand expired, police, on May 24, showed Aslam Chowdhury arrested in two violence cases and filed a remand plea in the court over the charges.EditorDesk | Published On:May 30, 2016
