4 female JMB members on 5-day remand

A Dhaka court placed four female members of banned militant outfit Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) on five days remand for each.

Metropolitan Magistrate Pranab Kumar Hui passed the order after hearing on the case on Wednesday.

Police Inspector (Operation) of Mirpur Model Police Station Shah Jalal Alam applied to the court seeking seven days remand for them.

The remanded are—Aklima Rahman Moni, Istisnat Aktar Oishee, Israt Jahan Mousumi and Khadiza Parvin Meghla.

The members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) conducted drives at Moghbazar and Mirpur-1 in the capital and Board Bazar of Gazipur city from 2 am to 10 pm on Monday and arrested the four suspected female JMB members.

Oishee is an intern of DMCH and head of the female unit of the banned outfit while the three others are 4th year Pharmacy Department students of Manarat International University.
